Cabo Frio

Cabo Frio is a coastal city with beautiful beaches. We started our first day visiting a school and an after school program. The schooll was more of a tech school highly focused on the sciences. From there we headed far out into the country. The land is much flater and more suited for farming. On our way to the after school, we had to wait as the cows crossed the road. The roads were dirt and sometimes mud. At one point we came up on a broken down truck that sat in the middle of the road. Another truck tried to pass it and slide into it. The only way we had to get around was through the mud. The girls did not want to attempt it, but the guys were in favor of it. Kassio, our driver, took the challenge and plowed right through it. Woo-Hoo. The school was very well maintained. They offered classes like music, ballet, baking, art, sewing and others. They even had their own garden in which they used all the harvested goods to eat while at the school. The grew different fruit trees, different herbs and raised ducks. They even kept the seeds from the plants to grow more. Waste water was used to make fertilizer and the garden was watered from a pond that collected rain water. The kids where very happy to see us, and as always, loved the camera. We enjoyed the day and wished we had a day to spend there and work with them. See ya!
